Deck The Halls

Early Monday morning, hours before the trade deadline, the Bruins traded away Anders Bjork and a second round pick to the Buffalo Sabres for Taylor Hall and Curtis Lazar.

This was a blockbuster trade that many Bruins fans were hoping would happen. Taylor Hall is three years out from winning the Hart Trophy (39 goals 54 assists), and being named MVP of the NHL with the New Jersey Devils. The former first overall pick only has two goals and seventeen assists on a horrendous Buffalo team this year, which lowered his trade value helping get this deal done. In 2019-2020 Hall had 16 Goals and 36 assists playing for New Jersey and Arizona. Hall looks to bring some scoring in the second line and to help David Krecji and could also provide some line flexibility. Taylor has said since the trade that he was opened to staying in Boston and signing an extension with the Bruins after this year.

This trade seems to be an absolute steal for Boston as Anders Bjork has not played in the last five games for the Bruins as a healthy scratch. The 24 year old was expected to be taken by the Seattle Kraken in this year's expansion draft. Although Bjork was still young, this was a trade Boston had to make to want a chance at the Stanley Cup in 2021.

Taylor Hall is expected to make his Bruins debut Tuesday night against his former team the Buffalo Sabres.
