Kiké Do You Love Me?

 Written By Matt Ferreira

Enrique (Kiké) Hernandez has agreed to a multi-year deal with the Boston Red Sox (per Mark Feinsand @Feinsand on Twitter). The deal was later reported to be worth 2 years and 14 million dollars.

Kiké hit .230 with 5 home runs in 2020. These may not be the most exciting stats to be looking at as a Red Sox fan, but after last season, it is a start. This is the first time since 2016 that the Red Sox have had a second baseman that has the capability to be an everyday player. Not only is Kiké a second baseman, he can also play SS,3B,LF,RF, and CF. Hernandez is your definition of an utility player, and much like the Red Sox last utility player, Brock Holt, Kiké is expected to be another fan favorite.

While he is not the best player on the field he is one of the most entertaining. He has had many funny moments on and off the field from dancing in the dugout, to his photoshoots, to his interviews mid game, Kiké will give Red Sox fans a reason to watch baseball in 2021.
