With the loss to Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the divisional round Sunday night, the New Orleans Saints had their season ended, but it could also produce bigger news for the New Orleans Saints, their franchise QB retiring.
Since the beginning of the year there had been speculation of Drew Brees retiring after the 2020 season no matter the outcome. In April, Drew had signed a contract with NBC Sports to be a broadcaster and analyst for his life after football. Many including myself were hoping to see one of the best in history go out with another ring, yet after losing to Tampa Bay 30-20 Brees was seen tearing up on the sidelines it seemed he said to Jameis Winston “this is your team now”.
Brees also left the field kissing the fans goodbye and turning around and looking at the field one last time while in a Saints uniform. This brought up many emotions for saints fans, and the video was posted by the Saints on twitter with “ 9️⃣ 🙏” .It very much seems like Drew Brees will announce his retirement later in the offseason.“This is your team now” pic.twitter.com/eQp0RT29hT

It is emotional for not only Saints fans but also NFL fans in general, as one of the games best is retiring, and not many are too far behind with Tom Brady at age 43, Aaron Rodgers at age 37, and Ben Roethlisburger at age 38. These are all players I have watched since I was a kid and many others have seen grow the game in their lifetime.
Brees was seen after the game with his family and Tom Brady on the field seemingly soaking in his last moments on the field at the dome.

If this is Brees’ last game he will finish his career at second all time in passing touchdowns, first all time in passing yards, and first all time in passes completed. Brees was always a fun player to watch on any given Sunday, unless he was playing against your team, and for sure will be a Hall of Famer in a few years.
